Free Marimba Clinic with Jane Boxall

World Class Percussionist to Give Free Clinic
On February 27th, 2010 distinguished percussionist Jane Boxall will be giving at free marimba clinic at Music Matters School of Music located at 222 E Wilson St. Batavia IL. The clinic will begin at 3:00pm and should last about an hour. Ms. Boxall will perform several pieces in a variety of styles to show the many aspects of the marimba. Students will have the opportunity to play and recieve comments from Ms. Boxall as well.
All ages and abilities are welcome to attend the clinic. There will be door prizes including free CD's and drum sticks. Call 630-406-8742 with any questions.
About the Artist:
Born in the UK, Jane completed Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music at the University of York, before relocating to the USA. She studied with renowned percussionist William Moersch at the University of Illinois, earning a Doctorate in Percussion Performance. Jane has performed and toured in the US, UK, Italy, Belgium, France and Ireland. Currently living in Vermont (USA), Jane is an enthusiastic music educator, working with students from pre-school to University level. Together with pianist Rose Chancler Feinbloom, Jane founded Ricochet Duo, a New England-based piano-marimba duo. Jane plays and endorses Coe Percussion marimbasand Vic Firth sticks and mallets.
